Ballard was the 2-0 winner over Lakeside when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Beavers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Beavers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Aiden DePaula put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

DePaula wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Danny DiMarco, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Ballard's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Lakeside, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ballard will host West Seattle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeside, they will be playing at home against Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
