The Vertus Warriors had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Rochester Prep on Thursday. The victory was just what Vertus needed coming off of a 80-58 loss in their prior game.
Vertus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reginald Pough, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Shon Wade, who scored 14 points.
Vertus' win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Rochester Prep, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Vertus will take on Gates Chili at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Rochester Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Le Roy at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. One thing working in Le Roy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
