Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Walton Raiders walked away with it. They blew past the Trojans 56-35. The result was nothing new for Walton, who have now won 12 games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Walton was led to victory by Makari Bodiford and Jeremy Hecklinski. Bodiford gained 141 total yards and four touchdowns, while Hecklinski threw for 370 yards and three touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes. Hecklinski hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Hunter Teal also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Walton's defensive line and their five sacks. Justin Krueger was especially locked on to Carrollton's QB and sacked him three times.
Kimauri Farmer and Julian Lewis certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Farmer rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns, while Lewis threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played.
The victory for Walton keeps them at an undefeated 13-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.54 points. As for Carrollton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Walton will look to defend their home field on Friday against Camden County at 7:30 p.m. Camden County is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Carrollton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
