Vestavia Hills came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Auburn Tigers by a score of 69-56. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Tigers are ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vestavia Hills' victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Auburn, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3.

Vestavia Hills will take on Choctawhatchee in a tournament on Friday. One thing working in Vestavia Hills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. Auburn and Pine Forest will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Auburn has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three contests.
