Elkmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Clements Colts on the road by a 50-31 margin. On the bright side, the 31- point performance marked the Red Devils' highest-scoring contest to date.
Despite the loss, Elkmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Reid Bardos threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 39 yards.
Jake Fleming was his usual excellent self, rushing for 357 yards and six scores while picking up 13.7 yards per carry for Clements. Fleming was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.
Elkmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Clements, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
