Conneaut had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it seven. They lost 11-4 to the Geneva Eagles. Ella Boroski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Sherman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.
As for Geneva, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.
On Geneva's side, Annabelle Bragg was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Bragg has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Claire Cafaro was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Savannah Burton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
