After flying high against the Baldwin Highlanders last Friday, The Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils came back down to earth. Mt. Lebanon took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canon-McMillan on Friday. Mt. Lebanon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Canon-McMillan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
It was another big night for Zach Welsh, who rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns. TJ Sabatucci also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Mt. Lebanon has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Canon-McMillan, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Mt. Lebanon and Central Catholic will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Central Catholic will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Canon-McMillan will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Allegheny at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. North Allegheny is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
