The Soddy Daisy Trojans pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Silverdale Academy. While losing is never fun, Soddy Daisy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Silverdale Academy is ranked 18th).
Silverdale Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brett Wright, who scored 19 points along with five assists. The match was Wright's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Kennedy Okpara was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with nine rebounds.
Soddy Daisy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Silverdale Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Soddy Daisy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Chattooga on December 20th. Silverdale Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ezell-Harding Christian at 4:30 p.m. on December 16th.
