The Indian Lake Lakers are taking a road trip to face off against the Jonathan Alder Pioneers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Indian Lake will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Indian Lake barely beat Northwestern the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lakers were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Warriors on Wednesday. With that win, the Lakers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Bre Wisener made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Wisener was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

In other batting news, Indian Lake let Annie Rapp and MacKenzie Miller run wild. Rapp went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Miller went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Miller a new career-high. Izzi Mackesy also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Indian Lake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jonathan Alder, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Bellefontaine by a score of 7-4 on Wednesday.
Taryn Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lucy Boyd was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Riley Magginis, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The victory got Jonathan Alder back to even at 9-9. As for Indian Lake, their record now sits at 9-6.
Jonathan Alder's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Indian Lake has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Jonathan Alder, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Indian Lake's sizable advantage in that area, the Pioneers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Indian Lake couldn't quite finish off Jonathan Alder in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Lakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
