After starting their season with two straight games on the road, Maize is finally coming home. They will look to take advantage of their home-field as they take on the Hutchinson Salthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Maize came up short against Andover and fell 27-14.
Although Maize took the loss, they still got scores from Bryson Hayes and Shannon Jones.
Maize wouldn't let Andover keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Drake Blasi, Landen Tamplin, and Kevin Watkins picked up one apiece. Watkins is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Hutchinson never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 13-0 win over Valley Center.
Hutchinson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 267 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Center only rushed for four.
Maize's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hutchinson, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
