The Hattiesburg Tigers had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points), and they went ahead and made it 16 on Friday. Everything went their way against West Jones as Hattiesburg made off with a 62-37 victory. Given Hattiesburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while West Jones is ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hattiesburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Burns out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Moody, who scored 16 points.
Hattiesburg pushed their record up to 21-1 with that victory, which was their 16th straight on the road. As for West Jones, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.
Hattiesburg will head out on the road to square off against Terry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Jones, they will be playing at home against Pearl River Central at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
