Colton had to endure  a  four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with  a   15-10  victory over the Country Christian Cougars  on Monday.
  Gracie Hakes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and eight unearned) runs off   12  hits. Hakes was even better at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.
 In other batting news,  Katelynn Kimsey was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, two  triples,  and three  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Chayse Smith, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Colton's win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 5-11. As for Country Christian, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 4-3.
 Colton will have a chance to go back-to-back against Country Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
