Even though the Chenango Forks Blue Devils scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, the Morris Central Mustangs still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Morris Central made off with a 57-56 victory over Chenango Forks. The win made it back-to-back wins for Morris Central.
Chenango Forks' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephen Samsel, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Walker Paske, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Chenango Forks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Morris Central's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Chenango Forks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
Morris Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chenango Forks, they will head out on the road to challenge Whitney Point at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chenango Forks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday.
