Admiral Farragut hasn't had much luck against Northside Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The BlueJackets will face off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Admiral Farragut is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Admiral Farragut proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the BlueJackets have posted since March 4, 2024.

Admiral Farragut saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Anderson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Anderson is becoming a predictor of the BlueJackets' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-10 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside Christian). Everything went their way against Lexington Christian on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-4 win. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Austin Anderson looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Northside Christian got a massive performance out of Luke Anderson, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Anderson a new career-high. Ashton Cox was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Northside Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Northside Christian's record is now 17-8. As for Admiral Farragut, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Admiral Farragut has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northside Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Admiral Farragut suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Northside Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Can the BlueJackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
