The Hale Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 62-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hillman. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hale in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.
Trenton Taratuta was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists for Hillman. Taratuta has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Rouleau, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Hale's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Hillman, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Hale will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Hillman, they will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Au Gres-Sims will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 730th, while the Tigers are ranked 261st).
