Basketball Game Preview: Palisades Pumas vs. Ardrey Kell Knights

Palisades is 0-4 against Ardrey Kell since December of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Palisades Pumas will head out on the road to square off against the Ardrey Kell Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Palisades is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Ballantyne Ridge: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Palisades blew Ballantyne Ridge out of the water with a 62-22 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Pumas had established a 29 point advantage.

Palisades' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tynilla Simpkins, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 10 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Simpkins has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Meyah Brown, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Palisades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Ardrey Kell strolled past Olympic with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 43-25.

Palisades' record now sits at 7-9. As for Ardrey Kell, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Palisades took a serious blow against Ardrey Kell when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 77-37. Thankfully for Palisades, Molly Burns (who went 12 of 19 on her way to 32 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
