Having just played yesterday, the Liberty Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans at 6:15 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Liberty Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday.
Liberty Christian stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard. They breezed by Carolina M on the road to the tune of 70-32. Given Liberty Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jakeem Bradford continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-8 from long range and dropping a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Ian Sterrett, who scored 21 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-38, which was the final score in Bethel Christian Academy's tilt against the on Monday. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Liberty Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Bethel Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
Liberty Christian came up short against the Trojans in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 54-42. Can Liberty Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
