After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eastmark, the Youngker Roughriders were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Verrado by a score of 38-31. The team accrued 32 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Youngker was led to victory by Ytzel McClendon and Ashlee Gonzalez. McClendon scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds, while Gonzalez scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gonzalez has scored at least 25% of Youngker's points.
The win got Youngker back to even at 3-3. As for Verrado, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Youngker will head out on the road to face off against Casa Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Verrado won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cactus Shadows at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Cactus Shadows comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
