Hopefully Bluegrass United is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Richmond HomeSchool in Kentucky (Bluegrass United is ranked 107th, while Richmond HomeSchool is ranked 239th).
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Bluegrass United's strategy against Shelby County on Tuesday. Bluegrass United took down Shelby County 53-36.
Bluegrass United's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allie McGuire led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. McGuire hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Piper Graham, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Richmond HomeSchool took a serious blow against Bluegrass United back in January, falling 61-23. Richmond HomeSchool has not had much luck with Bluegrass United recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Bluegrass United has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Richmond HomeSchool, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bluegrass United against Richmond HomeSchool when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 61-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bluegrass United since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
