Softball Recap: Red Bank Catholic Extends Winning Streak to Three

Red Bank Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Allentown Redbirds get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Caseys, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brianna Santangelo and Lily Hagan did most of the damage at the plate: Santangelo went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Hagan went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Hagan has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Lombardi, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Red Bank Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive matchups.

Red Bank Catholic's record now sits at 15-3. As for Allentown, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Bank Catholic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cedar Grove at 6:30 p.m. on the 20th. As for Allentown, they will head out to challenge Sayreville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
