It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Warriors out 58-55. The win was nothing new for Zephyrhills Christian Academy as they're now sitting on three straight.
Leading Zephyrhills Christian Academy to victory were Jordani Blanc and Rogers Jones. Blanc scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Jones dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Jones also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Perez, who scored five points along with two steals.
Seven Rivers Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Richard Kilias, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Hendrix Loughridge, who scored 12 points.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Tampa Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th. North Tampa Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 70.1 points per game this season. Seven Rivers Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
