The Gulf Breeze Dolphins and the Milton Panthers squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Gulf Breeze Dolphins had to settle for second. They fell 42-35 to the Panthers. Gulf Breeze's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Gulf Breeze's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Peak, who scored 12 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Ennis, who scored six points.
Christopher Jaylen mckinley was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points for Milton. Mateo Robinson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Gulf Breeze's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Milton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-6.
Gulf Breeze does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milton, they will square off against Wiregrass Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wiregrass Ranch has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,954 points over their last 26 matchups.
