Wayne is 0-10 against Springboro since May of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Wayne is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Wayne will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Northmont, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Thunderbolts on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cheyenne Townsend made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ivy Barbour, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Wayne lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Springboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They had just enough and edged out Miami East 13-12 on Friday. Springboro's victory was all the more impressive since the Vikings were averaging only 4.08 runs allowed on the season.
Springboro got a massive performance out of Kylene Seibel, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Aubrey Coffey was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Wayne's record now sits at 11-15. As for Springboro, their record is now 17-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Wayne hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Springboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Wayne suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Springboro in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
