Baseball Recap: Caston Falls Short of Tri-County in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Caston can now relate to. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tri-County Cavaliers on Monday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Comets were not able to get on the board.

Carson Harness spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Caston moved to 20-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Tri-County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

Caston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tri-County, they will take on Kouts at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cavaliers 3.6, the Mustangs & Fillies 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
