Greenwood Mennonite had a senior duo take command as Faith Troyer scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals and Laci Mast scored 12 points along with eight steals. Mast is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Nona Wright was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Faith Baptist School was able to grind out a solid victory over the on Monday, taking the game 40-29. Given Faith Baptist School's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the are ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brenna Binkley went supernova for Faith Baptist School, scoring 17 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Binkley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Yates HS, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Greenwood Mennonite's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.1 points. As for Faith Baptist School, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Greenwood Mennonite have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Faith Baptist School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Greenwood Mennonite against the Falcons when the teams last played last Thursday as the team secured a 47-18 win. With Greenwood Mennonite ahead 29-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
