Robinson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Shepherd Pirates on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Rockets as they're now sitting on 26 straight.
Raelynn Van Zee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Kaygen Marshall was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February of 2024. Reese Tate was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Robinson lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shepherd didn't launched any home runs.
Robinson's victory bumped their record up to 33-2. As for Shepherd, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 26-12.
