Mountain View is a perfect 10-0 against Mesa since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Toros will square off against the Jackrabbits at 3:45 p.m. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Mountain View will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Skyline on Tuesday. The Toros were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Coyotes.
Ashlyn Parra was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Keelie Goodman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mountain View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Westwood, falling 13-3.
Nevaeh Calvo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Mountain View now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mountain View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Mesa struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Mountain View's way against Mesa when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Mountain View made off with a 23-0 victory. Do the Toros have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jackrabbits turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
