If the Bordentown Scotties were feeling good off their 75-47 takedown of Doane Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bordentown fell 66-59 to Holy Cross on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bordentown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myles Hansford, who scored 14 points along with eight assists. That's the first time this season that Hansford posted eight or more assists. Eunmin Choi was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and four steals.
Holy Cross' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmanuel Doku, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Doku has scored at least a third of Holy Cross' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Martino, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Bordentown's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bordentown on the road again on Tuesday and play against Burlington Township at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Burlington Township focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will head out on the road to face off against Westampton Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
