They came out on top against Millard West by a score of 54-44. Given Omaha Westside's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Millard West is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Omaha Westside had a senior duo take command as Kevin Stubblefield scored 12 points along with two blocks and Caleb Benning scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Stubblefield posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Maddox Anderson, who scored nine points.
When it comes to explaining why Millard West lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Gassen. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter LaBorde, who scored five points.
Omaha Westside is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Millard West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
