Mountain View Christian Academy lost to Evergreen Christian on the road by a decisive 56-38 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mountain View Christian Academy of the 37-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, Mountain View Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Taylor Spiewak, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spiewak has scored all season. Eryn Demko was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Camryn Hackney went supernova for Evergreen Christian, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. It was the first time this season that Hackney scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Maddie Wivell, who scored seven points along with six assists and three steals.
Mountain View Christian Academy's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-5. As for Evergreen Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12.
Mountain View Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Berkeley Springs at 6:00 p.m. Mountain View Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Berkeley Springs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Evergreen Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Christ Chapel Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christ Chapel Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Evergreen Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
