Basketball Game Preview: Taylor's Crossing Eagles vs. Challis Vikings

Taylor's Crossing hasn't had much luck against Challis recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Taylor's Crossing Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Challis Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Taylor's Crossing is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by American Heritage to the tune of 53-20 on Saturday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Taylor's Crossing relied on the efforts of Alexis Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and Hallee Gorton, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Ellis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reagan Smith, who posted four points and six steals.

Taylor's Crossing was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Challis entered their tilt with Grace Lutheran on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 40-27 victory over the Royals.

Challis is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.4 points per game. As for Taylor's Crossing, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Taylor's Crossing might still be hurting after the 57-34 defeat they got from Challis when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Taylor's Crossing avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
