The Gouverneur Wildcats can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They put the hurt on AuSable Valley with a sharp 58-37 victory. Gouverneur has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Gouverneur got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jared Donaldson out in front who scored 16 points. Raine Rumble was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Gouverneur's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for AuSable Valley, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Gouverneur will take on Salmon River at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Salmon River is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for AuSable Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Beekmantown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beekmantown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than AuSable Valley in New York (Beekmantown is ranked 252nd, while AuSable Valley is ranked 698th).
