Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arlington). They breezed past the Putnam Valley Tigers to the tune of 39-6 on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Admirals as they're now sitting on six straight.
Arlington found their leader in sophomore Chase Harris, who rushed for 102 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries, and also threw for five yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Gianna Martin, who rushed for 90 yards and one TD on only six carries.
Arlington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive contests.
Arlington pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.5 points on average over those games. As for Putnam Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
