Baseball Recap: Mendon Unity Has No Trouble Against Monroe City

Mendon Unity had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Monroe City on Monday. Mendon Unity put the hurt on Monroe City with a sharp 15-3 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2018.

Sawyer Allen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Simon Rabe, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Mendon Unity now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Monroe City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Mendon Unity and Monroe City will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Mendon Unity will face off against rival Seymour at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Monroe City is set to square off against their familiar foe Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
