Northern Guilford (Greensboro, N.C.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 28-14 victory over
Western Alamance (Elon, N.C.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
T.J. Logan in the first quarter, the Nighthawks led 14-7 at the half.
Logan played well for Northern Guilford in the victory. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 26 touchdowns on the season.
NG had given up an average of 5.6 points prior to the contest. The 14 points that the Warriors ended with were well below their average of 29.8 coming into the game.
The Greensboro school also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-7.
The defeat comes as a step back for Western Alamance, which notched a 66-0 victory over McMichael in its previous outing. The loss snapped Western Alamance's 3-game winning streak.
