The McComb Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Vanlue Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. McComb is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.5 runs per game this season.
McComb is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Pandora-Gilboa with a sharp 24-5 win on Friday. The Panthers have beaten the Rockets the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rockets has come to flipping the script.

Lily Sebring made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Madison Brown was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Joruney Scheff was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
McComb always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Vanlue posted their closest victory since April 3, 2025 on Saturday. They skirted past Mansfield Christian 11-10.
The team relied heavily on Adrienne Phillips, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Brooks, who went 1-for-5 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
McComb's record now sits at 8-5. As for Vanlue, their record is now 4-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. McComb has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Vanlue struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
McComb got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Vanlue by a conclusive 20-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
