The Dewey Bulldoggers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They suffered a tough 30-6 loss at the hands of Verdigris. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dewey in their matchups with Verdigris: they've now lost three in a row.
Verdigris' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ty McKnight, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Tyler Willis also helped out with an impressive 128 receiving yards.
Dewey's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.2 points per game. As for Verdigris, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Dewey will look to defend their home field on Friday against Cascia Hall at 7:00 p.m. Cascia Hall is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Verdigris, they will head out on the road to face off against Inola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
