Las Cruces was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Gadsden on Thursday. The Las Cruces Bulldawgs breezed by the Gadsden Panthers to the tune of 53-16. The Bulldawgs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.

Las Cruces' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sofia Herrera led the charge by putting up eight points and seven steals. Herrera has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bethzy Quinones, who went 9 of 21 on her way to 18 points.

With the win, Las Cruces broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for Gadsden, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Las Cruces will welcome Organ Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Las Cruces has lost three straight at home , while Organ Mountain has lost three on the road. As for Gadsden, they will head out to take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gadsden is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
