Basketball Recap: Union Grove Christian Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Union Grove Christian extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Colin Wykes. The Union Grove Christian Patriots took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 69-35 victory over the Cramerton Christian Academy Crusaders thanks in part to Wykes, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 26 points and six assists. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points.

Garrett Trinkle was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and five steals. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Cramerton Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carter Hewitt posted four points.

Union Grove Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Cramerton Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Union Grove Christian will welcome Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Faith Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. As for Cramerton Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cramerton Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.
