The Loretto Angels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-23 loss at the hands of Riverside. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Loretto in their matchups with Riverside: they've now lost five in a row.
Riverside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophiya Bustillos, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Bustillos also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Hazel Veloz was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with eight steals.
Loretto's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Riverside, the win was the 23rd in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Mountain View the next time they take the court. Loretto will host Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Riverside will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
