Wyandotte is 0-4 against Highland Park since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wyandotte Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Highland Park Scots at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Wyandotte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Tuesday.
Wyandotte's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-28 walloping at the hands of Varsity Opponent. Wyandotte was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
Jaylynn Hunt put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Highland Park didn't even let Southeast onto the board and left with a 63-0 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Highland Park.
Highland Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tahtionna Broils led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Ramsey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Shawnee Mission North's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Wyandotte's loss dropped theirs to 0-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Wyandotte have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Highland Park struggles in that department as they've been even better at 44 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
