The Bishop Badgers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 59-52 to Laredo LBJ. That's two games in a row now that Bishop has lost by exactly seven points.
When it comes to explaining why Bishop lost, one person who can't be blamed is Donny Thomas. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points. Thomas scored a full 28.8% of Bishop's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Reagan Parr was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Homer Sanchez was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 17 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Damian Medina, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Bishop's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Laredo LBJ, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
Bishop is on the road again on Friday and play against Vela at 12:30 p.m. on December 1st. Vela presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bishop in Texas (Vela is ranked 188th, while Bishop is ranked 408th). As for Laredo LBJ, they will face off against Madison at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Madison is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
