The Ganado Hornets lost against the Holbrook Roadrunners back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Ganado ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-46 walloping at the hands of Holbrook. Ganado has struggled against Holbrook recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Ganado had strong showings from Grant Paddock, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Ethan Billy, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Leading Holbrook to victory were Xavier Brown and Tyler Tapaha. Brown scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Tapaha scored 26 points along with nine steals. The match was Tapaha's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joquin Belin, who scored ten points.
Ganado's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Holbrook, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Ganado will head out on the road to face off against Thoreau at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thoreau presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ganado in their respective states (Thoreau is ranked 67th in New Mexico, while Ganado is ranked 226th in Arizona). As for Holbrook, they will square off against Fort Thomas at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fort Thomas is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
