Gunn extended the longest winning streak in El Camino this week by beating Monta Vista, 28-27. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Gunn moved up to 525 from 591 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Dan Navarro's team climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Matadors 28-27.
Fremont's dynamic duo of Ricky Teo and Drell Byrd proved tough for Los Altos to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Teo threw for 103 yards and one touchdown and Byrd had 42 yards receiving. Johnny Armstrong helped Fremont's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Eric Day was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 158 yards on 17 carries as Lynbrook bested the Eagles. Tim Wallis also contributed to the rushing game with 105 yards on the ground.
Gabe Wagner-Rosales provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Vikings beat Harker. He completed five passes for 85 yards and also ran for 102 yards. Wagner-Rosales' favorite target this week was Lucas Ranieri, who caught one pass for 41 yards.
The Eagles' Spenser Quash and Robert Deng have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading El Camino in both passing and receiving yards. Quash has thrown for 2171 yards this season, while Deng has 52 catches for 685 yards. Fremont's Keenan Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 1306.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Gunn takes on second place Fremont. Last week, the Titans topped Monta Vista, while Ron Demonner's team beat Los Altos.
Gunn's Sean Lydster is a mere 86 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Lydster has rushed for 914 yards on 102 carries so far this year.
The Titans and Jeff Mueller's team played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Titans eventually emerging with a 28-27 victory.
