Basketball Recap: Mead Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ridgeline

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mead). They were the clear victor by an 82-61 margin over the Ridgeline Falcons on Tuesday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Falcons are ranked 211th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Ridgeline lost, don't look at Caden Andreas. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 13 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. That was a full 37.7% of Ridgeline's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Ehlers, who put up 12 points.

Mead is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Ridgeline, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coincidentally, Mead and Ridgeline will both be playing Mt. Spokane the next time they take the court. Mead will host Mt. Spokane at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Ridgeline will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
