Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Genoa Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Patriot Prep Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Genoa Christian Academy in their matchups with Patriot Prep Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Genoa Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Kirura, who scored 12 points, and Zane Groves who scored ten points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Groves has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Gilham, who scored eight points.
Temple Christian dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.8 points per game. As for Genoa Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7.
