Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Mifflin Titans, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a rough 42-21 defeat at the hands of Elizabeth Forward on Friday. West Mifflin's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Charlie Nigut got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Charlie Meehleib got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
West Mifflin's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Elizabeth Forward, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
West Mifflin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elizabeth Forward will square off against Avonworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Avonworth is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
