The Melrose Golden Wildcats waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 54-43 win over Power Center Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Melrose also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Melrose to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taveon Stitmon, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stitmon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Sanders Jr, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Melrose is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Power Center Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Ridgeway the next time they take the court. Power Center Academy will head out to face Ridgeway at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Melrose will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
