Sahuarita (Ariz.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Empire (Tucson, Ariz.), 45-14, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Mustangs were up 25-0 at the half.
Sahuarita expanded its lead to 33 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Rocko Vega to
Nasir Blake.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 31-28 win for the Mustangs.
Sahuarita (2-1) will play a non-conference game against Catalina next week, while Empire (0-2) will take on Walden Grove also in a non-conference game.
