Palmer is 6-1 against the Gladiators since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Palmer Terrors will head out on the road to square off against the Widefield Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. Palmer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 665 points over their last ten contests.
Last Saturday, Palmer faced the Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The matchup between Palmer and the Spartans wasn't particularly close, with the Terrors falling 71-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jackson Weber, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Walker Asp was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Palmer struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Widefield came up short against the Titans on Saturday and fell 48-38. Widefield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Palmer's record now sits at 16-3. Widefield's record now sits at 3-16.
Palmer beat the Gladiators 56-48 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palmer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
